This is a great website that shows how you can make old things from new. Look under the DIY portion, there are many ideas on how to make different items using common household objects. For instance a wallet is made from a box of cereal, a sun catcher is made from an old CD, and a really bizarre one is an umbrella made into a skirt. Check this website out.
